The Montreal Lake Sports & Recreation program is committed to promoting participation in physical activity to all members. The program accomplishes this goal through year-round recreation activities, sports groups and active living activities. The Sports & Recreation staff offers a wide variety of sports and recreation activities to people of all ages. There is an endless number of activities to do in Montreal Lake all year long, whether its skating or golfing, the sky is the limit.
Prince Albert Youth Soccer
In the Prince Albert Youth Soccer Association (PAYSA), we have seven teams registered and they will start their play-off season from June 16 to June 24, according to their age of their team and date on the schedule.
Saskatoon District Soccer Association
In the Saskatoon District Soccer Association (SDSA), the Senior Men and Women play twice a week.
Winter Events
The winter months are usually fully booked with public skating, senior and junior hockey, and senior and junior broomball. The Arena is a busy place during this time with all the local hockey leagues playing. There’s men’s, women’s, junior boys, junior girls, going into boys and girls’ teams of tykes, novice, atom, peewee and bantam hockey teams all using the rink. The annual schedule is always pretty full and has to be prepared in advanced to schedule all the ice time.
In addition to this heavy scheduling of the Arena, it is also used by local fundraising clubs for bingos depending on the weather. A canteen is available and all proceeds go to Minor Sports. A volunteer group is in charge of the kitchen, where the preparation of food and the sale of canteen items are made available for all hockey players and observers.
